The book has been divided into five sections. The first section deals with an unborn fetus, first-trimester screening, and its complications, keeping in mind FOGSI guidelines for the inverted pyramid management of pregnancy.
In the second section, a high-risk fetus is described. New additions in this section include fetal dysmorphology, fetal infections, and how to evaluate a fetal death case, with the role of a pathologist in its autopsy.
Medical disorders of pregnancy are described in the third section. New additions include antiphospholipid antibody syndrome in pregnancy, mental health diseases, skin disorders, and gynecological cancers in pregnancy.
The fourth section includes pregnancy outcomes after assisted reproductive technique, pregnancy at extremes of ages, immunization, and nutrition in pregnancy.
The last section covers special situations related to pregnancy, including the management of surgical emergencies during the antenatal period. A novel chapter includes pregnancy outcomes after organ transplant.
Most of the chapters have incorporated recent guidelines and recommendations from FOGSI/WHO/FIGO. Relevant figures, flowcharts, tables, and clinical algorithms have been included to aid readers' understanding.
