Obstetrics and Gynecology is a stimulating and at the same time a challenging specialty. As a specialty, it has been described as “Medicine in Miniature”. The specialty encompasses all aspects of medicine including embryology, anatomy and physiology, genetics, pathology, internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics (neonatology), pharmacology, and preventative medicine (public health). Since it is a very complex specialty, comprehensive coverage in most standard textbooks tends to inevitably fail to cover all the aspects of the specialty.
