This book arose from my life experiences as a teacher & clinician. It is an attempt to synthesize the humanistic and caring demands of our discipline with its pragmatic and scientific needs. This book is an attempt to bring visibility to ‘Autism Spectrum Disorders’ in child and adolescent psychological practices. This book is the new beginning, offering readers new views and insights on Autism Spectrum Disorders. The vision was to create a clinically focused book that would be useful to trainees and practitioners of Speech, Language pathology, Clinical Psychology, Special Educator, Psychiatrist, Pediatrician, Medicine and ENTs, etc; In this process, I have been able to apply what I have learned in twelve years of my career in speech and hearing sciences as a teacher or clinician. Besides, for nearly twelve years, numerous teachers and colleagues in the field; my students and followers (many of whom are now experts and academic leaders), children who have been our patients, together with their parents, have been unfailingly generous with sharing their experiences and insights. This introduction aims to communicate the clinical art and wisdom of child psychology, tied firmly to the science of our clinical disciplines in autism spectrum disorders. Each chapter highlights what is necessary to know about practices in assessment and therapy. This book contains numerous specimens, vivid illustrations and examples to present the ideas, in spite of great care there might be some mistakes and deficiencies in this book. We will be grateful if you will give suggestions for the same.
