The book “Lectures on the ART of Surgery” marks the culmination of the efforts of two decades of intensive teaching classes, in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, by the pioneers of their respective departments. This book, as the name suggests, dwells on the “Art” rather than the science of surgery that is outlined in the first part of the book. This is the “penumbra” of the surgical skills, that every upcoming young surgeon needs to know and inculcate within himself. The other three parts includes surgical acumen in wards, roadside trauma and surgical “tools”.
