  • "The book, titled Physiotherapy in Obstetrics and Gynecology, includes not only physiotherapy but several other specialties too. This is what differentiates it from the other books available in the market. The editors felt a need to create a book that not only included the physiotherapist’s perspective in detail, but also tried to look at a woman’s health from the perspective of a gynecologist, an obstetrician and a breast surgeon, among other professionals. The editors of the book have tried to identify the role of a woman not just as a homemaker, but also as a professional working in office spaces, in sports and other areas. The editors are strong believers of equality and hence, even with a book where the main highlight is woman’s health, they have tried to introduce the upcoming and lesser known topic of men’s pelvic health. Even though men’s health has always taken priority over women’s health, the male pelvic floor has been ignored up till now, which actually plays a really important role in the function of the core musculature, spinal stability, continence, and ultimate health of a male. The sole purpose of developing this book was to provide a platform to readers, where they can gain knowledge about each and every health problem that may be faced by a woman during her life and its physiotherapy management.
